Solution

Dear Student,

There was a major shift in the administration after the revolt of 1857. India came under the direct rule of the British Crown, wherein Queen Victoria promised non-interference in religious traditions and matters of succession. There was a major reorganization of the army, and Indian soldiers were employed to facilitate expansion of the British colonies. Civil Services allowed Indians, though the process was highly difficult for most Indians. The policies of divide and rule continued. Their was an increased survelliance and regulating of the native people.

Regards.
