Solution

Let us start with 14 apples
14×27 were spoilt = 4 apples
So, I am left with 10 apples. After selling them in the market,
10×15 apples were left = 2 apples.
Half of two apples would be,
2×12 ate by my wife = 1 apple

So, I am left with 1 apple.
