I'm currently 5 times as old as my son. In 6 years time I will be three times as old as he will be then. What are our ages now?

Let son's age be x yearsThen father's age=5x yearsAfetr six yearsSon's age= x+6 yearsfather's age=5x+6 years According to question5x+6=3(x+6)5x+6=3x+182x=12x=6So, son's present age=6 yearsand father's present age=5×6=30 years
