Solution

Explanation

There are energy transformations in the following:

  1. Hydroelectric power is the conversion of potential energy into kinetic energy and electrical energy.
  2. Battery: A battery is a device that stores energy in the form of chemical energy. is active in its chemicals and can be converted into electric energy whenever it is needed. Thus, inside a battery, chemical energy is changed into electrical energy.
  3. Stretched bow with an arrow = When an arrow is released from its bow, its energy changes from potential to kinetic.
  4. Explosion of a cracker = In the firecracker, the energy is stored in the form of chemical energy. When we ignite the cracker, it bursts, and we hear a popping sound with some light. So the chemical energy stored in the firecracker is converted into light, sound, and heat energy.
  5. Oscillating pendulum = The kinetic energy gets transferred into potential energy and back to kinetic energy. This process keeps on going on till the pendulum comes to rest.
  6. Hammering a nail = When a hammer strikes a nail hard enough, the mechanical energy is converted to heat energy as the nail head heats up.
