Cells in the flower petals
Plant cells contain plastids. Plastids are of three types - chloroplasts, chromoplasts and leucoplasts. Chloroplasts have a pigment called chlorophyll. These help to capture solar energy and in manufacture of food. Chromoplast is a type of chloroplast that is found in fruits, flowers, roots, and stressed and aging leaves, and is responsible for their distinctive colors. Chromoplasts impart colour to flowers and fruits. Leucoplasts are seen in cells where food is stored.
