Identify the factors that affect the process of evaporation.
Temperature
Surface area
Humidity in air
Evaporation is a surface phenomenon by which the particles having higher kinetic energy leave the surface. As the temperature increases, the kinetic energy of the particles increases which helps them to escape from the surface easier and faster. As the surface area increases, the number of particles coming to the surface increases and particles can easily escape. Humidity is the amount of water vapour present in the air. If the water vapor in the air is more, it is difficult for the other water particles from any surface to enter into the atmosphere. On the contrary, if the amount of water in air is less, then evaporation increases as more amount of water can be accommodated in it.
