Interferon is a signaling protein released by the viral infected cells to prevent the spread of the virus to the adjacent cells. It stimulates the immune cells like macrophage and natural killer cells that kill the viral infected cells. Whereas antibody is the immunoglobulin protein produced by the B cell to neutralize the activity of antigens or any other foreign particles. The immune response given by the T cell is called as cell-mediated immunity. The macrophage is the immune cells that shows phagocytosis and thus called as phagocytic cells.
