Ammonium Chloride is a white crystalline solid which is formed by the mixing of gases i.e. Ammonia and Hydrochloric acid.
When ammonium chloride ( ${NH}_{4} Cl$ ) is heated with sodium hydroxide solution then ammonia gas is evolved.
Ammonia has a pungent smell.
Reaction:
${NH}_{4} Cl + NaOH {(a q)}_{} ⟶ {NH}_{3} + NaCl {(a q)}_{} + H_{2} O {(l)}_{}$
