Solution

The correct option is A 8.16 cm
We know,
Area of rectangle = Length × Width

Let us find out the area of Rectangle 1.
Length = 7.2 cm
Width = 3.4 cm
∴ Area of Rectangle 1 = (7.2 × 3.4) sq cm

Calculating 7.2 × 3.4 by standard algorithm, we get:

Area of Rectangle 1 = 24.48 sq cm

It is given that,
Area of Rectangle 1 = Area of Rectangle 2

So, in Rectangle 2,
Area = 24.48 sq cm
Width = 3 cm

The length of the rectangle can be observed as:

∴ Length of the rectangle
= (24.48 ÷ 3) cm

Let us divide the numbers using standard algorithm.

So, length of Rectangle 2 is 8.16 cm.
