Solution

The correct option is B Monochlamydeae - Perianth - 8 cohorts
Bentham and Hooker called order as “cohorts”. They classified dicots into three subclasses. Monochlamydeae is the third sub class of Bentham and Hooker classification of dicots and is characterized by presence of perianth in one or two whorls. This subclass was not assigned any cohorts and the series were directly divided into subfamilies. Monochlamydeae has 7 series and 34 families.
Calyciflorae is the series of first subclass of dicots, polypetalae and has free petals and cup shaped thalamus. It has 5 orders and 27 families.
Bicarpellatae and Heteromerae are series of second sub class of dicots, gemopetaleae. Heteromerae is characterized by presence of superior ovary with more than two carpels. It has 3 orders and 12 families.
Bicarpellatae has superior ovary and epipetalous stamens in which filaments of stamens are fused with petals. It consists of 4 orders and 24 families.
