Solution

Let men required that can do double work be x.

Days Hours Writers
15 10 30
24 8 x

We have, P1=30, D1=15, H1=10, W1=1 and P2=x, D2=24, H2=8, W2=1.

Apply formula method ,
(P1×D1×H1)/W1 =(P2×D2×H2)/W2
(1 mark)

(30×15×10)/1=(x×24×8)/1

x=(30×15×10)/(24×8)

=23.4375

= approx 23 persons

To complete the same work 23 writers needed and to complete double the work 23×2=46 writers are required.
