If 30 writers, writing 10 hours a day can complete a work in 15 days, then how many writers writing 8 hours a day can do double of that work in 24 days? (3 marks)

Let men required that can do double work be x.

We have, $P_1$=30, $D_1$=15, $H_1$=10, $W_1$=1 and $P_2$=x, $D_2$=24, $H_2$=8, $W_2$=1.

Apply formula method ,
($P_1$×$D_1$×$H_1$)/$W_1$ =($P_2$×$D_2$×$H_2$)/$W_2$

(30×15×10)/1=(x×24×8)/1

x=(30×15×10)/(24×8)

=23.4375

= approx 23 persons

To complete the same work 23 writers needed and to complete double the work 23×2=46 writers are required.
