Let the cost of the article is x

when S.P. is 340 Rs/- gain % $=\left(\frac{340-x}{x}\right)\times 100.$

when S.P is 350 Rs /- gain % $=\left(\frac{350-x}{x}\right)\times 100.$

Hence -

$\frac{350-x}{x}\times 100-\frac{(340-x)}{x}\times 100=5.\to$ given

$\Rightarrow 35000-100x-34000+100x=5x.$

$\Rightarrow 5x=1000$

$\Rightarrow x=200Rs/-$
