Let Cost price of the article $=Rsx$

When SP is $Rs340$, then gain $\%=\frac{(340-x)}{x}\times 100$

When SP is $Rs350$, then gain $\%=\frac{(350-x)}{x}\times 100$

Hence additional $\%$ gain $\frac{(350-x)}{x}\times 100-\frac{(340-x)}{x}\times 100$

Hence $\frac{(350-x)}{x}\times 100-\frac{(340-x)}{x}\times 100=5$

$\frac{350-x-340+x}{x}\times 100=5$

$\Rightarrow 10\times 100=5x$

$\Rightarrow 5x=1000$

$\therefore x=\frac{1000}{5}=200$

The cost of the article is $Rs200$
