$\therefore$ 8 : x : : 10.40 : 33.80

$\Rightarrow x\times 10.40=8\times 33.80$

$\Rightarrow x=\frac{8\times 33.80}{10.40}=\frac{8\times 3380}{1040}=26$

$\therefore$ No. of oranges = 26.
