Question

If A and B are mutually exclusive events such that P(A)=35 and P(B)=27, then find P(AB)

Open in App
Solution

We know that if A and B are mutually exclusive events then P(AB)=P(A)+P(B).

It is given that P(A)=35 and P(B)=27, therefore,

P(AB)=P(A)+P(B)=35+27=3×75×7+2×57×5=21+1035=3135

Hence, P(AB)=3135.
