Let probability of occurence of A=x
Let probability of occurence of B=y
Probability of occurence of both =xy=18
Probability that both will not occur =(1x)(1y)=38
Therefore,
x+y=34
y=34x
Substituting in the above equation,
(34x)x=18
8x26x+1=0
x=14 or 12
