Question

If a digital thermometer does not use mercury, then how does it measures temperature?

Open in App
Solution

1. Digital thermometers are based on resistors.
2. When these resistors sense the temperature change they change the flow in electricity and thus rise/fall in temperature is detected by them.
3. Resistors are basically the particles that hinder the flow of current and there hinderance is temperature dependant.
