If a number is thrice the other and their sum is 24. Find the number

Let other number be X.

A = 3X

According to question,

X + 3X = 24

4X = 24

X = 24/4 = 6

Other Number = X = 6

And,

A = 3X = 6 × 3 = 18

Hence,

Numbers are 6 and 18.
