The correct option is A 288 cm2

Given:
AB= BC,
area of Δ BEC = 72 cm2
AC = 12 cm
∴ AC = 2AB
AB = 6 cm
area of Δ BEC=12×base×height
72=12×BC×height
72=12×6×height
height=24 cm
Hence,
Area of parallelogram=base×height =AC×height=12×24=288 cm2
