Open in App
Solution

Given:- sinxa=cosxbbsinx=acosx
To prove:- asin2x+bcos2x=b
Proof:-
Using trigonometric identity:
sin2x=2sinxcosx
cos2x=12sin2x
Therefore,
Taking L.H.S.-
asin2x+bcos2x
=a(2sinxcosx)+b(12sin2x)
=2sinx(acosx)+b2bsin2x
=2sinx(bsinx)+b2bsin2x(acosx=bsinx)
=2bsin2x+b2bsin2x
=b
=R.H.S.
Hence proved.
