Au3++3eAu(s) E=1.40 V(2)[ΔG2] From (2) - (1), we get
Au3++2eAu+ ---(3) [ΔG3]
So,
ΔG3=ΔG2ΔG1
2×F×E=3×F×1.40+1×1.69×F
E=1.255 V
