Identity (x+y)(x-y)
If fx=x2-5 x+...
Question
If f(x) = x
2
- 5x + 7, evaluate f(2) - f(-1) + f(1/3).
Open in App
Solution
F(x)=x²-5x+7
f(2)=2²-5.2+7=4-10+7=11-10=1
f(-1)=(-1)²-5.(-1)+7=1+5+7=13
f(1/3)=(1/3)²-5(1/3)+7=1/9-5/3+7=49/9
∴, f(2)-f(-1)+f(1/3)
=1-13+49/9
= (-108 +49)/9
= -59/9
