If half the total number of chromosomes that is 23 from both tha male and the female gametes fuse to form a baby of normal 46 chromosomes, then how the sperms or eggs produced by this baby when it become adult contain only 23 chromosomes and not 46 normal chromosomes?

Dear Student,

Gametes are produced as a result of meiosis which is reductional division. When two gametes belonging to opposite sexes combine then the chromosome number is restored back. Thus halving of the chromosome number in gametes maintains the chromosome number of a species.
