Question

If magnitude of the electric Flux entering the closed surface is 5 Nm2 /C and leaving the surface is 3Nm2 /C then the magnitude of net electric charge inside the surface is?

Solution

ANSWER:-

Solution
Here the electric flux entering is taken as negative and leaving is taken as positive.By Gauss's law ϕ=1ϵ0(Qenclosed)

Qenclosed=ϕϵ0=(8×103+4×103)ϵ0
=4×103ϵ0 Coulomb.

By Gauss's law ϕ=(1/ϵ0)*(Qenclosed)

⇒Qenclosed=ϕϵ0=(−5+3)ϵ0
=−2ϵ0 Coulomb. [ϵ is permittivity constant]

Hope it makes you clear.
Thank you.
