if mixed, iron and sulphur form a mixture, but heated form a compound. how are the mixture and compound so formed, identified?

Dear Student

When iron and sulphur mixed together they do not react as their activation energy in not permit to react after applying heat they excited and occupy activation energy and form the product.

They can be identified by a simple experiment.

If you bring a magnet near the mixture, the iron will be attracted to it and get attached.

But, this will not work with the compound. Iron will not come out of the compound by using a magnet.
