Solution

The correct option is A a = 1, b = -3
Applying section formula, we have

For x coordinate,

9a2=3×(8a)+1×(3a+1)(3+1)

9a2=24a+3a+1(3+1)
4(9a2)=27a+1
36a8=27a+1
9a=9
a=1.

For y coordinate,
b=(3×5)+(1×3)(3+1)
4b=153
4b=12
b=3
