If $P$ is the mid point of $A B$ , then $A P = P B$

Given $A B = 9 c m$

$\Rightarrow A P + P B = 9$
$\Rightarrow A P + A P = 9$ (Since $A P = P B$ )

$\Rightarrow 2 A P = 9$

$\Rightarrow A P = \frac{9}{2}$

$\Rightarrow A P = 4.5 c m$
