Given that ,
$P$ is the momentum of body of mass $m$
Hence velocity of body , $v = \frac{P}{m}$

$∴ Kinetic energy of body = \frac{1}{2} m v^{2} = \frac{1}{2} m (\frac{P}{m})^{2} = \frac{P^{2}}{2 m}$
