If the length and breath of a rectangle are in the ratio 5:3 and its perimeter is 144m , find the area of the rectangle .

Given , the length of the breadth of the rectangle is 5:3

and The perimeter of the rectangle is 144m

We can 5:3 take as 5x:3x

It is a known perimeter of rectangle is

2l+b=14425x+3x=1448x=72x=728x=9

So, length and breath of rectangle is 45cmand 27cm

Area of rectangle :-

Area of rectangle =length ×breath

=45×27=1215m2

Hence, the required area of rectangle is 1215m2 .
