Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth
Let's assume length and breadth of the rectangle to be 'l' and 'b' respectively.
If the length of a rectangle is halved and the breadth is doubled then
New length = 12l
New breadth = 2b
Therefore, new area = Length × Breadth
= 12 l × 2b
= l × b
The new area is equal to the old area. Hence, there is no change in area.
