If the numerator and denominator of a fraction are increased by "1" and "3" respectively, the fraction becomes 1/2. What is the fraction, if the increase of 2 in the numerator and 7 in the denominator makes it 2/5 ?

Let the fraction be ND.
We know that, N+1D+3=12
2ND=1
And,
N+2D+7=25
5N2D=4
On solving these equations,
N=2 and D=3
Thus, Fraction = 23
