If the numerator of a fraction is increased by 2 and denominator is decreased by 1, it becomes 23. If the numerator is increased by 1 and denominator is increased by 2, it becomes 13. Find the fraction.

Let the fraction be xy
Given, if
the numerator of a fraction is increased by 2 and denominator is decreased by 1, then fraction =x+2y1=23
=>3x+6=2y2
=>3x2y=8 --- (1)
Also, if t
he numerator is increased by 1 and denominator is increased by 2 then fraction =x+1y+2=13
=>3x+3=y+2
=>3xy=1 --- (2)
Subtracting equation (1) from (2), we get y=7

Substituting y=7 in the equation (2), we get 3x7=1=>x=2 Hence, the fraction is 27
