We know that, simple interest (SI) $=$ $\frac{P \times T \times R}{100}$
$=$ $\frac{1200 \times 3 \times 15}{100}$
$= \frac{54000}{100}$
Divide both numerator and denominator by a common factor $100$ .
$=$ $\frac{54000 \div 100}{100 \div 100}$
Simple interest (SI) $=$ $540$
We know that, the total amount $=$ principal (P) $+$ Simple interest (SI)
$=$ $1200 + 540$
$=$ $1740$
Therefore, the amount to be paid $=$ $R s 1740$
