Question

If the speed of the car is halved, how does the kinetic energy change?

(a) Determine the work done by the force F in moving the block x5m along the slope.

Open in App
Solution

The kinetic energy =1/2×m×v2

If the velocity is halved, the kinetic energy will also decrease to 1/4thof its original value as the velocity is directly proportional to the kinetic energy.

Given the distance travel along the slope=5m

(a) Force applied=F

The work done in moving the block 5m along the slope is:

Work done=F×s

=F×5

=5FJ
