When the bob is displaced from the mean position, it covers equal distances on either side of the mean position. It also takes equal time to travel from the mean position to either of the extreme position. So, the path followed here is A-O-B. If time taken by the bob from O to B is T, then the time taken for the bob to move from A to O is also T. Hence, the time taken for the bob to move from A to B is 2T.
