The correct option is B 36
Let fathers age be x years and sons age be y years.
Then, as per the given statement form an equation
3y+x=60 ----- (1)
2x+y=80 ------ (2)
From equation (1)
3y=60x
y=(60x)3
Put the value of y in equation (2)
2x+(60x)3=80
6x+60x=240
x=36
So, the fathers age is 36 years.
