Solution

The correct option is A XY
We have, 8n7n1=(71)n7n1
=(nC272+nC373+...+nCn7n)
=49(nC2+7.nC3+...+7n2.nCn) for n2
For n=1,8n7n1=0
Thus, 8n7n1 is a multiple of 49 for n2 and 0 for n=1.
Hence, X consists of all positive integral multiples of 49 of the form 49Kn,
where Kn=nC2+7.nC3+...+7n2.nCn together with zero.
Also, Y consists of all positive integral multiples of 49 including zero.
Therefore XY
Hence (A) is the correct answer.
