Solution

35x-37y=68 ...(i) 35y-37x+76=0-37x+35y=-76 ...(ii) Adding eq (i) and (ii), we get: 35x-37y= 68 -37x+35y=-76 -2x-2y=-8-2x+y=-8 x+y=4Subtracting eq (ii) from (i), we get: 35x-37y= 68-37x+35y=-76 + - + 72x-72y=144 72x-y=144 x-y=2 ...(iii) & x+y=4 ...(iv) Adding eq (iii) and (iv), we get: x+y=4 + x-y=2 2x =6 x=3Substituting x=3 in eq (iii), we get: x-y=2 3-y=2 y=1Hence, x=3 and y=1 is the solution of the given equations.
