Question 84 (iii) Campus and Welfare Committee of school is planning to develop a blue shade for painting the entire school building. For this purpose, various shades are tried by mixing containers of blue paint and white paint. In each of the following mixtures, decide which is a lighter shade of blue and also find the lightest blue shade among all of them. If one container has one litre paint and the building requires 105 litres for painting how many containers of each type is required to paint the building by darkest blue shade?

In mixture E The nmber of blue containers= 6 The numbr of white containers = 1 ∴ Ratio of blue and white =61=6 In mixture F. The number of blue containers = 4 The number of white containers 2 ∴ Ratio of blue and white=42=2 The darkest blue shade is Mixture E So number of blue containers required = 105×67=90 Number of white containers required = 105 - 90 = 15
