Let the length of the actual chain be x mm. Therefore,
$\frac{2 c m}{0.0000001 m m} = \frac{17 c m}{x m m} \Rightarrow x = \frac{17 \times 0.0000001}{2} = 8.5 \times 0.0000001 = 0.00000085 m m$
