Let the length of the actual chain be x mm. Therefore,
$\frac{2cm}{0.0000001mm}=\frac{17cm}{xmm}\Rightarrow x=\frac{17\times 0.0000001}{2}=8.5\times 0.0000001=0.00000085mm$
