Let the number of wrong answers is $x$
Then right answer $= 50 - x$
Then according to the question:
$\Rightarrow (50 - x) - 2 x = 35$
$\Rightarrow - 3 x = 35 - 50$
$\Rightarrow - 3 x = - 15$
$\Rightarrow x = \frac{- 15}{- 3} = 5$
