In a cinema hall, 300 tickets were sold. The total sale of tickets was Rs. 1250. If the tickets were of two denominations of Rs. 2.50 and Rs. 5.00, how many of each were sold?

Let a be the number of Rs.2.50 tickets
and b the number of Rs5 ticket.
Given
a+b=300.....(1)
2.5a+5b=1250......(b)
Eq(1)×5
5a+5b=1500
2.5a+5b=1250
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯2.5a=25a
25a=250
a=100
a+b=300
100+b=300
b=200
Thses are 100 Rs2.50 ticket and 200Rs5 ticket
