Let the number of Rs. $15$ tickets be $x$

The number of Rs $30$ tickets will be $(500-x)$

According to question:

$15x+30(500-x)=12000$

$\Rightarrow$$15x+15000-30x=12000$

$\Rightarrow$$15x=3000$

$\Rightarrow$$x=200$

$Rs.15tickets=200$

$Rs.30tickets=500-200=30$

$\therefore 200$ of the $Rs.15tickets$ and $300$ of the $Rs30tickets$ were sold.
