In a cinema hall, $300$ tickets were sold. The total sale of tickets was Rs. $1250$. If the tickets were of two denominations of Rs. $2.50$ and Rs. $5.00$, how many of each were sold?

Let ${}^{\prime }{a}^{\prime }$ be the number of $Rs.2.50$ tickets

and ${}^{\prime }{b}^{\prime }$ the number of $Rs5$ ticket.

Given

$a+b=300$.....(1)

$2.5a+5b=1250$......(b)

$Eq\left(1\right)\times 5$

$5a+5b=1500$

$2.5a+5b=1250$

$\overline{2.5a=25a}$

$25a=250$

$a=100$

$a+b=300$

$100+b=300$

$b=200$

$\therefore$ Thses are $100$ $Rs2.50$ ticket and $200Rs5$ ticket
