Solution

The correct option is B 51.04
Entropy change due to Isothermal Mixing : Due to mixing of gases, entropy of the system Changes. Initially both the gases have the same temperature so mixing will not change the temperature. Isothermal mixing increases the entropy of the system.
ΔSsystem(mixing)=ΔSGas 1 (due to mixing)+ΔSGas 2 (due to mixing)

ΔSsys=n1R ln(χ1)n2R ln(χ2)ΔSsys=R[n1ln(χ1)+n2ln(χ2)]

1=He; 2=H2

χ1=55+4=59 ; χ2=45+4=49ΔS=8.314 [5×ln(59)+4×ln49)] ΔS=51.04 J K1
