Given,
The linkage between the two genes= 66%
Therefore, the parental type i.e. pure red-long pollen pea plants and white-short pollen pea plants will be = 66% of 1000
=660 pea plants
Among 660 parental type, 330 plants will be red-long pollen pea plant and 330 will be white-short pollen pea.
Now, number of recombinant type pea plants i.e white-long pollen pea plants and red short pollen pea plants = 1000-660
= 340
Taking equal number of white-long pollen pea plants and red short pollen pea plants, the number of white pollen plant = 340/2
= 170.
Thus, the correct answer is '170.'
