Number of pair of nucleotide in 1 major groove=10
Thus, for 8 turns= 10x 8= 80 nucleotides.
If in a DNA fragment there are 8 turns, with 40% of the bases of cytosine.
Thus, no. of cytosine in DNA= (40x 80)/ 100= 32
Since, cytosine is complementary to guanine with triple bond, the number of hydrogen bond is 96.
Other nucleotides are adenine and thymine= 48. Since, they are double bond, hydrogen bond is 96.
Thus, total number of hydrogen bond= 96+96= 192
Thus, correct answer is option A.
