Solution

solution:

At starting number of trees are 40,000.

The objective is to increase by 5%

so 5% of 40,000=5100×40000

=20,0000100

=2000

In one the year 2000 plants to be planted, so in three years =3×2000 trees

=6000trees

Expected number of the tree after 3 years =46,000 trees.

2) If 5% is calculated on present trees after 1-year total trees 42,000.

5% of 42,000=5100×42000

=2100

after second-year trees are 42000+2100

=44100 trees

5% of 44100=5100×44100

=2205

after 3 year expected trees =44100+2205

=46305 trees.
