In a given shell, the order of screening effect is?
For this let's discuss the screening effect.
Screening effect, also known as the shielding effect, reduces the effect of the nucleus on the outer electrons i.e. inner electrons act as a shield and reduce the electrostatic interaction between the nucleus and outermost electrons.
The correct order of orbitals in a given shell for the screening effect is s > p > d > f, i.e., s-orbital has the highest shielding effect whereas f-orbital has the least shielding effect.
