Given that,
Initial balancing length of potentiometer with a cell, l1=220 cm
Now the cell is shunted with resistance, R=3Ω
Final balancing length, l2=130 cm

Internal resistance of the cell, r=(l1l2l2)R

r=(90130)×3=270130=2.08Ω

Hence, option (D) is correct.
